Taking Spanish classes with Verónica Bonafina was a
pleasure and a privilege. She is patient, intelligent, and wonderful at coming
up with new methods to teach language. She caters to the individuality of each
student and is always comfortable and fun to be around. She made learning
Spanish joyful and applicable to academics and social life as well. She is so
knowledgable on a wide range of subjects, especially music and the arts as well
as history. She even explained historical concepts to me in Spanish that I had
trouble understanding English! She is a teacher by nature and is tremendously
devoted to her students and their individual needs and studies. Verónica is an
extremely passionate person who I feel blessed to have had as a teacher and a
friend.

Vero's teaching helped me develop my fluency in
Spanish considerably. She focuses her teaching on the individual learners
passions and needs and this makes learning seem effortless whilst still being
focused on the development and practice of useful grammar. It was a joy to
learn with her.

I worked with Verónica on and off for a year and
half and I highly recommend her as a Spanish teacher. She completely shapes her
classes around your needs, and also shapes them around your interests. If I
mentioned a topic that interested me, no matter how bizarre it was (for
example, transsexuality in Argentine society) the next week she would have a
book ready for me to read, and a movie ready for me to watch on that topic.
She's also very knowledgeable about what she does,
having studied linguistics, and with so many years of experience teaching
Spanish learners from all over the world, she quickly identifies problems and
how to correct them. This speeds up the process of learning, and each lesson I
felt was worth more than a week of classes with other teachers. I have
repeatedly recommend her to friends for how much more confident I feel with my
speaking, pronunciation, understanding, and writing.
And finally, Vero is just a great person and someone you look forward to spending
time with, even if it is to do something un-fun like conjugating verbs. She's
an excellent resource for the city of Buenos Aires and of Argentine culture,
and will make you feel much more comfortable here."
